Disclaimer! So, I don't really have any experience with "data visualization," but the portrayal of information really fascinates me. I've noticed that important data is often pretty ugly and difficult to sort through, especially those from government databases, so I figured I'd spend my free time working through the data (since I am a huge nerd) and arrange them into simple images.
Another disclaimer! I'm doing this mostly for fun, using Open Office, because I have nothing better to do and can't afford Adobe Illustrator.
Here's my first one, showing the ratio of women to men in science & engineering in the US and how that has changed a little bit over a 20-year period. If you have any suggestions or requests for types of data you'd like to see, please tell me about it!
